The album dI The Golden Knight is pure joy to the ears: an enchanted world where Johann Sebastian Bach plays Commodore 64 video games, where Kraftwerk never knew synthesizers but only medieval instruments, where Italian library music composers are Dungeons & Dragons fanatics.
Make way for the golden knight! Sir Richard of Warwick ‘s sword is always ready to defend the good guys from the bad guys-or simply to fight as a pastime! His costume is flamboyant, his soul noble (or so he likes to believe), and the world he lives in is a strange Middle Ages in which crusades and the space race are both popular activities. Despite his princely appearance, Sir Richard is a wanderer: under the guise of going to fight the infidels in the Holy Land, he wanders the world (and space) in search of adventure. He will never make it to the Holy Land, but yes to the moon. Have fun with Sir Richard!
The Golden Knight: A Hero of the Golden Age of Comics.
In 1939, in the pages of “Fantastic Comics,” the GOLDEN KNIGHT made his debut; a strange character created from the imagination of the talented (and forgotten) cartoonist Greg Chapian, the GOLDEN KNIGHT survived until Fantastic Comics #20 (July 1941), only to be supplanted by the cooler, more modern (?) superheroes of the 1940s. The GOLDEN HORSE remains a unique proto-fantasy experiment in the Golden Age of American comics, an era of unparalleled creativity and fun.
CASIOTOMB and the Tribute to the Golden Knight
Musician CASIOTOMB spent his nights avidly reading the adventures of the Golden Knight and, admiring Sir Richard’s charisma and courage, decided to dedicate an entire album to him. When CASIOTOMB delivered the album to the HDK offices we all agreed that it was a masterpiece.
The Golden Knight album is pure joy to the ears: an enchanted world where Johann Sebastian Bach plays Commodore 64 video games, where Kraftwerk never knew synthesizers but only medieval instruments, where Italian library music composers (Egisto Macchi, Marcello Giombini and Gianni Safred) are Dungeons & Dragons fanatics.
