The cover artwork is by Caryad, illustrator of the classic German role-playing game Das Schwarze Auge, and each cassette in the trilogy includes a ready-to-play role-playing adventure written by the HDK editorial team.

The tracks reflect these themes through a nostalgic sound aesthetic deeply rooted in the 1980s—a narrative thread that Gilgareth has pursued since its earliest releases. The music celebrates the classic sound of digital synthesizers: at times harsh and razor-sharp, at others celestial, occasionally awkward and unbalanced, yet always powerful. Accompanied by iconic drum machines, the tracks were mixed and recorded using analog equipment, some of it delightfully worn and imperfect.
