HDK is proud to present a trilogy by the German dungeon synth duo GILGARETH, consisting of the albums Werkzeuge des Meisters, Sidequests, and Aventurische Flüsse. The cover artwork is by Caryad, illustrator of the classic German role-playing game Das Schwarze Auge, and each cassette in the trilogy includes a ready-to-play role-playing adventure written by the HDK editorial team.

Here’s Aventurische Flüsse (“The Rivers of Aventuria”), the third chapter of the trilogy: pure nostalgia for the role-playing games of our childhood!

AVENTURISCHE FLÜSSE is your regional guide: slower, more evocative, with an almost cartographic sound. It explores space rather than action, movement rather than combat. These rivers are lifelines, borders, myths, and memories.
The tracks were conceived from the very beginning as environmental sketches: winding, ever-changing, and constantly in motion. Most of the melodies and motifs evolved through improvisation on existing ideas, shifting course, doubling back, fading away, and reappearing elsewhere, carried along by the current.
