Fléaux!

Fléaux!(pronounced Flay-O) is a brutal medieval/early renaissance/baroque fantasy rpg. It is inspired by Black Hack 2e and Black Sword Hack.

Characters are a gang of evildoers trying to make ends meet in a ruthless world. There are no classes.
Your character is defined by his or her background, upbringing, occupation and the crime of which he or she has been accused. This means that your dwarf adventurer, who grew up in a traveling circus and worked as a ball-breaker, now finds himself on a wanted poster because he threatened an inquisitor. As they gain levels, characters can grow in any number of ways. So your dwarf might even learn a magic trick or two along the way….

The rules are based on d20: pull under the appropriate attribute to be successful.

In addition, in Fléaux! the rules are player-facing, which means that the GM does not have to roll most of the time. Players pull to attack, defend, and avoid being eaten by an undead.

It is fast, reliable, easy to “hack” with short and brutal fights. Sorcery is dangerous and messy. You will also find rules for firearms and alchemy. The bestiary contains more than 80 entries. More than enough to crush player characters.
