On the planet Orn, the poor man dreams of a liquid, black as a starless night.
The power of the gods, distilled into oily midnight ink.
Are you ready to travel the world in search of the ink of the ancients?
Orn is a planet abandoned long ago by an alien race, now known as the Ancients. Adventurers venture into the inhospitable moors beyond the cities dominated by the ambitious Merchant Houses, in search of ancient ink, currency of the known world and mysterious catalyst for spells…
The Electrum Archive is a technomagic role-playing game, written by Emiel Boven and inspired by Morrowind, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Dark Sun and Dune. It is developed through a series of zines that describe parts of Orn’s world and add new rules and procedures to be used during the game. Although this overview is only the beginning to a fantastic journey, it is enough to start venturing into the world of Orn. There are no prepackaged adventures in this zine. The goal of this issue is to establish the tone and atmosphere of Orn, while providing you and your group with some fun building blocks with which to construct your own adventures.
Subsequent zines will include more table-ready material and will delve into the settings briefly described in this first manual.
Within the Italian Edition of The Electrum Archive you will find:
- A solid system of basic rules and procedures for beginning to explore Orn.
- A large“point crawl” map of the inhabited part of Orn.
- Descriptions of the eight main factionsand their schemes for controlling Orn and what it possesses.
- 60 narrative hooks spread across six detailed regions to kick off your adventure.
- 120 engaging encounters to be discovered during the journey on Orn.
- A bestiary with over 30 monsters and a table for generating NPCs.
