Barbarian Bay – Core Book (English Edition)

In Barbarian Bay, every alley hides a secret, every tavern promises trouble, and every blade can change your fate. Gather your companions, face forgotten dangers, and win glory and riches in a wild world where heroes die young and only their legends survive.

Barbarian Bay is a Sword & Sorcery role-playing game inspired by the stories of Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, Fritz Leiber, and Clark Ashton Smith. With simple, easy-to-follow rules, you’ll take on the roles of mighty barbarians, cunning thieves, and fallen nobles in search of gold, revenge, and fortune in an ancient, decaying world where sorcery corrupts anyone who dares to practice it.

Each adventure—called a “Tale”—has no predetermined plot, and not even the Narrator knows how events actually unfolded. It will be up to you, by piecing together the Discoveries you make along the way, to tell the Final Scene and decide whether your story will end in gold or blood.

In the Barbarian Bay manual, you’ll find:

• The Rules for Creating Your Own Sword & Sorcery Sessions
• Four ready-to-play stories that will take you from the purple lotus plantations of the Black Steppes to a sorcerer’s untouched tower, from the jungles beyond the mouth of the Makong to the underground chambers of a city that offers its dead to a jackal god.
