Every journey begins with a single step. You are a pilgrim—or perhaps a fugitive—crossing lands laid to ruin in search of redemption, faith, or simply survival. Abandoned villages, scorched fields, and haunted ruins mark your path as something ancient and malevolent slowly creeps into the world.

Ruination Pilgrimage is a horror role-playing game powered by the Panic Engine—the same system that drives stress, panic, and mental collapse in Mothership—set in a medieval world ravaged by plague, war, and demonic forces.

Its rules use percentile dice to resolve actions, with every failure and every encounter with horror increasing your Affliction, a measure of your descent into despair. If your suffering becomes too great, you risk losing control—or meeting an even darker fate.

Through random tables, you’ll generate your character’s past, equipment, and vices, all of which directly shape gameplay and interact with the Panic Engine’s mechanics of mounting tension.

Choose from five character classes—Warrior, Cleric, Merchant, Scholar, and Laborer—each with a distinct role in a broken world: those who fight, those who pray, those who bargain, those who seek knowledge, and those who build.
